Andhra Pradesh government on September 4, 2019, announced a new sand mining policy scrapping the free sand policy, implemented by the previous government in the state. According to the new policy, in action from September 5, a tonne of sand will be available for Rs 370 only at governmentowned stockyards operated by Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corp (APMDC).
